THE FIGURE

Most of my work is figurative in nature.  I look at people, especially the female figure, as if they have a story worth telling.  As an artist, my work revolves around expressing these very real, messy stories and moments of our lives.  My work looks for a moment (or moments), an expression, or an authentic feeling, while avoiding the perfection artificially expressed in our digital world.

MATERIALS

I gravitate towards pastel and charcoal.  While finding that these materials suit my process, I often combine them with other materials to create mixed-media pieces. Oil, spray paint, and gouache all play into my process.
